Clubs reopened in a modified format on Monday 1 June providing access for Wests members only from 10am daily.

Our dining outlets, gaming lounges and bars are now open with social distancing in place including every second poker machine turned off and 1.5m spacing between tables.

Wests members will be required to present their membership card upon entry; second form of ID may also be required. At Wests New Lambton members will also be required to sign in and out at the control point for each CovidSAFE zone they enter.

Victorian license holders will not be allowed access to our clubs at this time until further notice.

As a condition of entry members will be required to sign in and out of the Club. We are required to record the names and contact details of all members, staff, contractors and any other person that enters the club, and to retain this information for 28 days for contact tracing purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, the details of any minors are not required to be recorded.

For your safety we will screen all members and temperature check as required. Patrons will be asked if they are feeling unwell and those displaying symptoms will not be able to enter the venue.

Entry to each club is via the main entrance only.

Access to Wests New Lambton via the carpark air bridge and Tauranga Road will be temporarily closed.


We proudly display our tick of approval as a registered COVID Safe business with the NSW Government. Our COVID Safe plan includes our commitment to the wellbeing of members and employees, physical distancing, hygiene and cleaning as well as record keeping.

The following measures are in place to protect our members and employees.

Can I join Wests as a member to access Clubs?

Yes. Guests will be welcome to join, subject to having suitable identification.

Guests can join in-club as a social member for just $2 which provides access to the Club or as a Full member for $12 to enjoy access as well as full member benefits.

Are gaming lounges open?

Yes. All Club gaming lounges are open with social distancing measures in place including every second poker machine turned off.

What time does Wests City open and close?

10am - 3am daily

Can minors attend the venue under current restrictions?

Children attending our Licenced Clubs may only do so in company with a Responsible Adult, or for special pre-booked events such as school formals.

NSW Legislation requires the Club to refuse entry to any person under the age of 18 years who is not in the company of a Responsible Adult.

A Responsible Adult means an adult who is;

  • A parent, step-parent or legal guardian of the minor, or
  • The minors spouse or de facto partner,
  • For the time being standing in as the parent of the minor (In Loco Parentis)

Is there a time limit to club visitation?

No, there is no limit to the amount of time a member can spend in-club.

How are you managing the health and safety of employees and members?

Keeping our members and employees safe is our number one priority. We will continue to apply the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our facilities. We've increased our cleaning schedules including daily deep sanitisation of venue prior to opening, installed toilet sanitiser, additional hand sanitiser and soap dispensers. Our increased focus on social distancing assistance measures includes on-ground markers, queuing systems, signage, regular announcements and every second poker machine switched off. We have dedicated CovidSAFE Marshals monitoring numbers and enforcing social distancing requirements.

How can members assist with keeping each other safe?

In accordance with best practice guidelines we recommend all members adopt high standards of personal hygiene, including washing hands and using hand sanitiser frequently.

Safe social distancing requirements include:

- No standing, guests must remain seated when not placing or collecting an order;

- Members must remain within their group and not move to another group of guests;

- Ensure 1.5 metres between groups;

- No more than 20 customers at a table.

To make it easier for you to visualise the recommended safe physical distance between people when ordering, please look for the markings our team have placed on the floor. Standing on these marked areas will ensure you are separated from other customers by the recommended 1.5 metres.

Members who feel unwell with cold or flu like symptoms are requested to follow advice of health authorities and avoid attending Wests Clubs.

Do family members need to socially distance inside the club?

Members of the same household are not required to socially distance. Family members should observe distancing standards where they are not in the same household. Seating will be arranged so that chairs are distanced at 1.5 metres, to give all members the opportunity to socially distance. Members of the same household may wish to bring seating closer together. If members are not from the same household, our Club CovidSAFE Marshals will advise members to observe distancing of 1.5 metres between each other.

Is a member required to consume food to visit the club and use its facilities?

No. Patronage will not be predicated on the consumption of food.

Is there a limit for how long you can stay in the club at any one time?

No. You can stay as long as like.

Can alcohol be purchased without a meal/food?

Yes. NSW Health have confirmed that the purchase and consumption of alcohol will not be ancillary to the purchase and consumption of food.

Do we need to book in advance to attend the Club or dine at food outlets?

No. Club entry and casual eating outlets are walk-in only.

Are there any changes to parking?

Our carpark facilities continue to be accessible for Wests members attending the Club.

Please note access to Wests New Lambton via the carpark air bridge will be temporarily closed.

What payment options will be available in-club?

In line with the heightened medical guidelines we encourage members to utilise our Tap and Go contactless electronic payment method.

Our ATM facilities will be available and frequently sanitised.

How long will the current restrictions apply?

The NSW Government has not advised how long these conditions will be required; however, they will be reviewed regularly in line with the broader COVID-19 situation and case numbers.

Are Wests Hotels currently open?

With travel restrictions across NSW easing from 1 June we look forward to welcoming you for your next business or leisure stay.

The Executive Inn, Newcastle, The Gateway Inn, Newcastle and The Anchorage Port Stephens continue to remain open and provide a safe home away from home for those undertaking travel within government guidelines.
